Hutong Metabolism has had a wonderful month in the press. We are excited to share that our book has been longlisted as one of Germany’s “most beautiful books” by Stiftungbuchkunst. The longlisted books are in competition for the 10 000 Euro annual prize to be presented at the Frankfurt book trade show later this year. More information and the full longlist are available in German here

The magazine Deutsche Bauzeitschrift has also released a recommendation for Hutong Metabolism by their editor, Benedikt Kraft. The opinion piece concludes that there is a great potential for learning from the concepts presented in the book. We have translated our favourite quote here:

“The project presentations… are imbedded in a holistic discourse about building in China, which reveals important aspects of ZAO/standardarchitecture projects, thus showing them to their best advantage.”

And finally, John Hill’s review of Hutong Metabolism on A daily Dose of Architecture Books rounded off this exciting month for our book. We recommend this read for an in-depth critique of the publication.
